Empower Parents is born
2015
The program is included in the National Museum + Social Plan
Prepared by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports with the aim of ensuring that museum institutions adapt to current social realities.
From the collaboration between the Queens museum of New York, the ICO Foundation and hablarenarte, thanks to an award from the American Alliance of Museums within its Museums Connect program, dependent on the Department of State of the United States of America.
2017
Empower Parents is recognized as one of the three most innovative and inclusive projects in the European cultural industries
At the NICE Awards 2017, Network for Innovations in Culture and Creativity in Europe, organized by the European Center for Creative Economy (ECCE), an award that promotes inclusion through social innovation.
2020
EMPOWER is created
The team of professionals that coordinates the program together with the family community decides to establish EMPOWER with the aim of continuing with the lines of work already started at the ICO Museum.
Based on this alliance, Fundación ICO and EMPOWER activate a work network that includes the National Museum of Natural Sciences, the Royal Botanical Garden, the ICO Museum and the Telefónica Foundation.
